Mission Meadows is a nonprofit community garden in Spokane focused on food security, education, environmental stewardship, and bringing neighbors together.
The organization wanted a documentary-style film that could capture the garden’s evolution, highlight the people who sustain it, and communicate the deeper sense of connection and shared purpose growing there.

The primary goal of the project was to reveal the deeper story of Mission Meadows through authentic interviews, natural imagery, and observational filmmaking.
Rather than simply documenting the garden itself, the film centered the people who shaped it, showing how a shared piece of land became a place of nourishment, belonging, and collective purpose.

THE PROCESS
I approached this project as a short documentary, focusing on the lived experience of the garden rather than creating a polished promotional piece.
Through interviews with founders, organizers, and gardeners—alongside observational footage and natural sound—I shaped a story about how growing food can also grow trust, belonging, and community.
